As a blogger, you may be overwhelmed with the things that you need to do. The good news is, you can learn how to be a better blogger if you know which activities to focus on. You will find that your productivity will increase as you use the following tips.
1. Focus half of your time to build content
Yes, half of the time you spend for blogging should be for content creation. It is important that as a blogger you produce at least good quality information. That will separates you from the rest of the pack.
Quality is no longer optional in this age. There is more information than anyone could consume for their lifetime. The last thing they want is more average content.
If they want to read a blog, they are looking for extraordinary content. Give it to them, or they will replace your blog with others. After all, we only have so much time in a day.
I know successful bloggers who spend 4-6 hours every day to produce various pieces of content. More if you plan to sell your content in ebook, audio and/or video format. That sounds a lot, but keep this in mind. What you are going to be building are assets that you can leverage and work for you while you sleep.
2. Use most of the rest of your time to promote your blog
The other half is for promotion. In a broad sense, this includes interacting with your readers and other bloggers. They are people who will spread the news about your blog.
You also want to do your best to get your content out and reach your target audience. This is how you gain the momentum. After a while, it may happen automatically. As you gain links from other influencers, your blog will start promoting by itself if you keep writing great content.
When you create a product, you are promoting your blog through other more advanced method. You may want to get affiliate to promote your product, and that's another kind of promotion.
Content and promotion are the only two things that will make and break your blogging venture. Focus on activities related to those two and you are on your way to build a very successful blog.
The rest, as they say, is up to you. Once you have a horde of followers, you will find various ways to make money from your blog. Thinking about the model is important, but focusing on it too much in the beginning is not productive at all.
