Tips for Better Blogging

Blogging has become more and more popular recently and is one of the main sources of information in the internet today. There are lots of types of blogs - personal blogs, IT blogs, design blogs and so on. But, regardless of what kind of blog you have, there are some guidelines to turn your new blog into a successful one. It takes time and patience, but if you are passionate about what you do, and are ready to work, you can own a successful website in a few months.

Content is King

The content comes first as the most important thing on a page. Design and user interaction are second and third because as long as you keep the users interested in the content you provide they will keep coming.

You can write about chickens, horses, cloud computing, multimedia design or water bottles, as long as you keep it interesting. The internet is big and there is a small corner for everyone. Sure, writing about a very popular niche such as sport or TV might bring you traffic faster, but it'll make it more difficult as you will have to compete with the heavyweights.

However, though the competition is important, it doesn't matter if you provide quality content. That's the key to better blogging.

Use an appealing and simple design

Yes, content is important, but design has its importance as well. There are thousands of free and premium themes out there. Do not be afraid of playing with themes, that's the way to reach a good design. Go for a more cleaner, less cluttered theme, they are more popular today.

Once you have content and design figured out, your blog is already better than many others out there. But there are still small adjustments you need to make.

Don't do it just for the money

If you start blogging just because you want money you will most probably not be successful. If you insert tons of Google AdWords and other ads you will be seen as someone who is desperate for money and not someone who focuses on content.

If you write very well advertisers will come. They will not miss you if you are a good blogger, do the basic job that needs to be done in this industry and bring in lots of visitors each day. But advertisers are more likely to pass you by if they can see you're only in it for the money.

We get back now at point 1: content is king. It can bring you visitors and money, why not just focus on it in the beginning, let your blog grow and advertisers find you?

Be patient

I know it sounds silly, but patience is an important asset of blogging. It takes a lot of time to build a brand, and it's not easy either. That is why you will have to spend a lot of time on your blog, and be patient about everything you have to do. If you start a blog today, you won't be richer in two weeks. You won't have 100.000 visitors each day and you will definitely not have a lot of success.

Visitors come and go. If you are able to keep them, you will be successful. Five new visitors today, 7 tomorrow, 35 next week, and so on, that's how a blog and a brand grow. You can't just skip a single step when you are a blogger, you are very unlikely to be successful if you try to do it fast.

These are few tips for better blogging. Try to follow these guidelines, be patient, and success will come.

I started working in publishing 1989, involved in writing, photography and design for various magazines and newspapers. I was a freelance designer for print and web since 1995 which included a couple of stints working abroad as English teacher. How to Make More Money Blogging by Doing Less

This is true. Before you think this is one way to sell you a product or service, please read this short article. You can make more money by doing less, and this applies to whatever you do online. What you'll learn is an evergreen principle that works everywhere.

Nowadays, you can sit at the comfort of your own home and still reach your audience globally. That means, what seems to be an obscure niche may be a huge niche on its own. I was surprised by this a few times so I seldom trust my guts anymore. Just do the research to confirm it.

Rather than spending your time on 20 blogs at once, you would be able to do better if you put your best effort on one or at most two blogs. If you've ever wondered why it is so, here's why.

There are currently millions of blogs, and that number is increasing every day. People are starting a blog in every niche that you can imagine. With so many information to peruse, the one thing people struggle with is time.

People have more choices than ever. If you can't provide useful and good quality information, they will not come back or subscribe to your RSS feed. The logic is that simple but most bloggers overlook that fact.

Creating good quality information regularly requires a lot of work. Passion shines through the content that you create. That's not all though...

You also need to promote your blog so others will notice and read it. That takes another big portion of your time. Cultivating relationship with other bloggers, for instance, require that you monitor what they post, comment and get them to link to your content. For that you may have to have something interesting to say and add to the conversation.

Getting links from other blogs mean stronger link popularity and higher search engine rankings. Can you see the big picture now?

When your audience starts commenting on your blog, you also want to interact with them so they know you are there to help them and care for them. Once you have loyal followers, you should be able to make money from it, and that is very hard if you only do it half-heartedly.

The more you get involved in the niche, the better the content that you write. The effect is like a snowball. So stick with it for a while and see how it goes. It helps if you start with something that you truly enjoy.

Five Things You Need To Have Before You Start Blogging For Your Business

Blogging in the commercial sense has become extremely popular recent years and if carried out correctly, can be a particularly lucrative activity for any business.

The problem that a lot of businesses have, however, is that once they hear about the potential of a business blog, they rush into the process without any planning or preparation, something that will do nothing but mean you waste time that you really didn't have to - or time that could have been better spent elsewhere.

Therefore, to help those who are new to business blogging, the following five things are needed - or at least it would be strongly advised to have them - before you start blogging.

A website - the aim of a blog is to provide an area where a business can communicate with its customers, providing news and updates on everything from company news and new products.

Therefore, whilst in theory you can have a business blog without having a business website, it can be seen as somewhat of a pointless exercise, as you could be speaking to thousands of potential customers online, but without having the facility to direct them to a website where they can buy your products or services.

Knowledge of your market - something that you should have carried out to a certain extent prior to setting up your business, without a knowledge of your market, you're going to struggle to write blog posts that are going to be compelling and interesting, meaning it's going to be difficult to entice readers in.

Sure, you'll obviously what products they're after if they're buying yours, but do you know why they're buying these products? Do you know how long they use the products for? Do you know if they'd like more help or advice on the products?

It can take some time to fully understand your market, but when you do, you'll be able to produce content that's engaging and informative for them, something that all business blog posts should be.

Fluency and competency in your market's language - although it's highly likely that the audience you aim at primarily speak the same language as you do, it's important that if they don't, you do your utmost to learn that language to a fluent level before you start blogging, as writing in broken English, for example, doesn't portray a particularly professional image for your business.

What's more, it's advisable that unless you're competent in writing in an effective, professional way, you hire someone to do it for you.

It might only seem like a small point and it's easy to assume that if you can read and write English, for instance, you can write in a professional way, but the truth is that writing an e-mail to your friend is a completely different process to writing blog posts for your potential customers.

Some technical knowledge - whilst there are plenty of guides and instruction manuals available to help you set up your business blog and start blogging, it is strongly recommended that you have at least some technical knowledge before you move forward, as it will make the whole process that extra bit simpler.

Basic knowledge of an FTP client would be advisable, whilst knowing some standard HTML coding can always come in useful. And if you're reading this thinking it looks like a foreign language, type the phrases into a search engine and read up on them - they really aren't as difficult to understand as you might think.

Patience - when you hear reports of businesses seeing fantastic results from blogging, it can be extremely motivating and make you enthused to push your business's blog forward.

However, it can also have the negative effect and make you particularly frustrated when you didn't see the results you were hoping for within a few weeks. Just like any new project, it can take a substantial length of time for it to get off the ground and although you should see some results within a few weeks from regular business blogging, don't be surprised if it takes a several months for you to start seeing the results that are similar to what you were hoping for.

A business blog is something that every single business around the world can utilize and benefit from. Whilst they are relatively easy to set up, they can be difficult to use effectively if you don't have a plan and it's for this reason why it's strongly recommended you've got the appropriate aspects in place before you start, so to ensure the maximum return on your investment.

Blogging For Success - How to Start Blogging

You are reading this article because you want to blog for success. Yes, success is in the making as you read this. Don't worry if you are a newbie in this field. I was once like you who believed that there's nothing in the online world that cannot be learned. And mind you, blogging can easily be learned. If you can surf the internet or use a word processor, then you can start a blog. And before you start a blog, ask yourself these questions: Do I enjoy writing? Am I passionate about a certain topic? Do I have specialized knowledge I want to share? Do I want to start or grow my business? Do I want to create an online journal to share with family and friends? What about a career journal? Do I have a portfolio of photographs, artwork, or web designs I want to market? Do I want to earn money online? If you have favourable answer to these questions, then you've got the starting right mindset that will propel you to success.

There are many benefits to and reasons for starting a blog - informational: sharing news, information, photos, videos; professional: enhancing your business, as a career journal, to display your writing skills, market yourself or your business; personal: personal or family blog, thoughts and musings, as a family photo or video journal; as a business: internet marketing, consulting, brand development etc. So, why tardy. Here are some fundamental tips for you to start you blog. Now!

First, make sure you have a niche picked out. A niche can be thought of as a category, usually a broad one that can then be broken down into further categories. I suggest that you pick out a niche that you know and are passionate about, something that you love researching on or writing about. You need to be interested in what you are posting otherwise you will get tired along the way and give up blogging. If you love what you are doing, then convincing your readers to follow your posts will become almost natural. For example, if you are keen on photography, it is expected that you share things that you have learned about taking pictures, types of camera and the like. Of course, you will share your knowledge in a way that it becomes equally interesting to your readers and followers. In short, knowledge and passion are fundamental elements in blogging. Without these, your blog is doomed to fail.

Second, give your blog one main theme. It is recommendable that you focus on one topic or a set of related topics. For example, if you blog about Travel to Brazil, you should focus on "travel to Brazil" topics. These aren't exactly the same topics, but they point to the same overall theme. Obviously, it doesn't make sense to write on the same blog about travel today, then soccer tomorrow, then depression on Saturday, then... Ok, you know what I mean. Your readers follow your blog because of a particular interest in a topic or theme. It will be logically easier to grow you blog in terms of subscribers and traffic if readers know what to expect.

Third, go hands on! For this, you need to sign up for an account. To get started, simply go to Google Blogger at Blogspot and click the "Sign up Now" button and fill out the information that is presented to you. It is quick and easy to follow. When you sign up, the Google Blogger will take you through a process that will lead you along the way. In addition, signing up for a blog is free, so don't worry about any startup costs or monthly fees.

Then, after you have signed up and created your blog, you now have the option to go in and pick a theme, or template, for your blog that will determine how your blog looks. You'll then be presented with the many free themes. Browse the themes, and find a theme according to your preference. Now that you already have your theme, begin to organize your widgets. What are widgets? These are little sections of your blog that display different types of dynamic information. For example, there are widgets that help readers search your blog, widgets that display links to your favorite blogs or lead to recent blogs posts, and more. Once you are into hands on mode, you will discover some more widgets to your blog.

Finally, start blogging. Share your thoughts with the world by clicking on New Post. You'll find a page where you can enter the title of a post, then input the body of the blog post. You can write your post directly or simply copy and paste text from another document. You'll also find tools below for adding categories and keywords to your blog. And now, are you ready with your post? Click the Publish button, and your post will be published to your blog for the world to see. Wow!

Just follow these and your blog will surely find its way to success. So, get out there, blog, and share your blog address with all your friends and family!
