How to Use Blog Statistics to Get More Traffic Even If You Are New to Blogging

Most people today start business blogs with the hope of informing people and making money while still adding value. The only way to have an effective business blog is if you drive traffic to it.

There is a whole lot that can be learned from the current visitors to your site that can ensure that you can increase your blogging traffic. There are more tools than ever to get very detailed statistics on your blogs visitors and will be discussed below.

How to get traffic statistics for your blog

Before you can use traffic statistics you will need to find these statistics first. Many of you may already have some sort of traffic analysis software, or use your hosting or blogging platforms built in user tracking.

When only using your hosting company or you blogging platform to track visitor statistics, I personally suggest that you get a more in depth analysis software. I personally recommend Google analytics which is very detailed and easy to use and is free. It is compatible with almost any blog or website and even a complete technophobe can set it up in a matter of minutes.

What to do with traffic statistics to help your blog

Google analytics and other specialist analytics software can tell you many things from the city or country your visitors are from, and what link or referring site or keyword was searched to get to your site. It even tells you what browser the visitor used to look at your blog.

Which sites are referring the traffic?

So what can you do with this information? Well, let us say a large percentage of your visitors are referred by a single site. You can see what page they saw that referred them to your site and you can look at the information and see how to duplicate or improve it. If, let us say much of your traffic came from an article directory such as Ezine articles, you know this is working and you can submit more articles or try to improve the quality of the articles etc.

What browser are they using?

You can also use statistics to identify the browsers people are using to visit your site; make sure your blog looks good and works well in that browser.

Where do your blog visitors come from?

The possibilities are huge as the amount of detailed information is enormous. If many visitors are coming from a specific country or city, you can have posts on your blog that are directed towards that city or country thereby increasing the number of visitors from there.

What words are they searching when they find your blog?

If you see that visitors are finding your blog through search engines, you can see if there are words that they are searching that you have not optimized properly, and you can target them.

It has often been said knowledge is power and this is very true on the internet. Have you used the knowledge effectively to improve your blogs traffic?

How I Generated a Blog Traffic Increase of 273% in One Week

In this article I am going to share with you how I was able to generate a blog traffic increase of 273% in as little as one week.

After I share these blog traffic increase tips with you, you'll be able to generate similar, if not better, results with your own blog and turn your blog into a lead generating magnet.

To take full advantage of the power of a blog, you have to understand where blogging fits into your marketing strategy.

How Did I Generate a Blog Traffic Increase of 273% in Just One Week?

I managed to generate a blog traffic increase of 273% in just one week by doing two simple things.

The first thing I made a point to do was to post on a consistent basis. For me, it was important to post on a daily basis. This has allowed me to have more content and more value to offer to my visitors and readers more regularly.

However, consistency doesn't mean that you have to post every single day. Your schedule might not lend itself to that. But, if you're going to post three times a week, or once a week, or once a month...just make sure that you do it consistently.

The last thing you want to do is to let your blog go stagnate for a prolonged period of time. Doing so will almost kill your readership and you'll have to start all over again should you decide to blog again.

The second thing I did to increase my blog traffic was to get active within a syndication tribe. A syndication tribe is simply a group of like-minded people who share each others content with their following.

Sharing my content with a tribe has multiplied my efforts a hundred-fold. Having a tribe distributing your content throughout the internet gives you much more exposure than you could ever get for yourself. Plus...it provides third party validation that your content is worth reading.

What has the blog traffic increase meant for me?

The increase in blog traffic has meant an increase in the options for the offers that I have in my blog. Namely...more leads.

I have been able to connect with more people, I have been able to create relationships with more people, and more people are looking into my lead generating training and my primary business opportunity.

Your results may vary...but I don't think by much. I truly feel that if you put your head down and get to work you'll be able to generate similar results.

Blogging Tips - How Guest Blogging Can Help Drive Traffic And Generate Leads To Your Site

Traffic and leads are the bread and butter of any online business. If you ever want to make any money online you have to know how to get people to your website. There are many basic methods out there to drive traffic that work pretty well. Sometimes though, you need to think outside the box and learn some non traditional ways that people use, but many starting out may not know about. These types of things are learned over time from mentors which is a good reason why you need one if you want to succeed.

Guest blogging is a marketing method those just starting out may not know about. It's a method that can help draw many extra people to your website without much effort. Having a blog is an important part of your marketing strategy. The only problem is most who are starting out, and even some who have been doing this a while, don't generate enough traffic to their own blog for it to have a huge impact on their business. That's where guest blogging can help.

Essentially you're doing the same thing you have been continually doing; writing quality content for your readers to view on your blog. The only difference is instead of posting it just to your blog, you're posting it on a blog that generates thousands of readers each day. Sounds pretty simple right? It is, but you have to remember that your content has to give value or it will be over looked. If you have your ducks in a row and your blog is of worthy content, you will be looking a chance to drive significantly more traffic to your website.

You have to do your research though. Make sure your posting on a site that gets the most traffic and is relevant to the content you are going to write about. If you're in internet marketing it really won't be helpful for you to go and guest blog on a site that focuses on arts and crafts. That's just an example, but I think you get the point. They key is to drive TARGETED traffic back to your site so you increase your chances of generating leads and sales.

The other thing you want to take into account is your content. Earlier we talked about having quality content. Find subjects that generate the most readers. Top news headlines or how-to blogs are some example topics that generate the most readers. When writing about things in the news make sure you're creative and turning it into useful information. What I mean by this is taking that headline and relating it to your business. If you're in the home business or internet marketing industry, you want to relate it to that.

The extra traffic and leads you can generate through guest blogging can be very helpful. Since your business depends on that traffic, it is important to consistently learn new ways to get your site more exposure. Incorporating this method of marketing into your plan will definitely get you one step closer to reaching your goals.
